Hidden Layers is an interdisciplinary exhibition and research project that explores how invisible digital infrastructures can be made physically experienceable. Through interactive sculptures and haptic media installations, we open technological „black boxes“ and invite visitors to engage critically with the material realities behind digital interfaces. The project brings together perspectives from media art, exhibition design, and digital methods to create immersive installations that translate abstract data flows, network architectures, and algorithmic processes into tangible experiences. Drawing on feminist technology criticism and DIY practices, we question dominant narratives of seamless technology and make visible the labor, resources, and power structures embedded in digital systems.
